Lauren Gregory knows home care.
When her parents became ill, she stepped into the role of caregiver and began coordinating efforts to
arrange services for them. To her dismay, she discovered that many agencies employed non-certified
caregivers who demonstrated a lack of training and professionalism on the job. Many of them failed to
wear identification badges, and she and her parents rarely saw the same aide twice. She found it nearly
impossible to reach anyone at their office and - as a result - never knew who was coming or when.
While working as a home care therapist, Lauren found the same issues arising again and again. Finally,
when forced to intervene and call emergency medical services for a client whose aide was unsure of what
to do, she made up her mind to start her own agency.
Amazing Grace Private Nursing Care, Inc. was founded in 2004. From a desk in her dining room,
Lauren developed a core philosophy based upon her personal and professional experiences: that they key
ingredients to improving quality of life are independence, socialization, and safety. In order for an elderly or
disabled individual to thrive, it was imperative that they maintain previously established life roles, or
establish new ones when their former roles were no longer feasible. By assisting Clients to attend church
services, social gatherings, adult day programs, or simply by helping them to prepare lunch or become
more independent with their daily hygiene, these roles were encouraged and Clients regained a sense of
purpose in their lives.
Joy Bellman started her career with Amazing Grace Private Nursing Care, Inc. as a Caregiver. It wasn’t long, however, before her professionalism and organizational skills got her noticed. She transitioned into the main office in August, 2008, and has been a valuable member of the administrative team ever since. As Administrative Assistant, Joy wears many hats – from staffing and recruitment, human resources and payroll management to client relations and receptionist.
Andrew Gregory also joined the team in August 2008. He took over Lauren’s role as Marketing Liaison so Lauren could continue to focus on client relations and overseeing the daily operations. Andrew participates in networking groups, visits rehabilitation centers, local hospitals, elder attorneys, etc… to continue building strong relationships with all involved in elder care. Andrew, being Lauren’s nephew, has proved to instill the core value of a family business for families just like yours!
Although Amazing Grace Private Nursing Care, Inc. continues to grow, it is our mission to never lose sight of the ideals upon which the company is founded. We believe that this continued focus on quality of care will not only make Amazing Grace one of the leading home care providers in the area, but will also raise the bar to a level which other service providers must meet in order to remain competitive.
